During my time as the Management Intern, I worked closely with the owner to manage the part-time staff as well as streamline the business operations. I had the role of furthering the training of the part time staff. During this time, I developed an Excel spreadsheet program that helped the staff manage the jobs that were in progress in the shop that saved an average of 4 hours per week as well as a Microsoft Access database to track the unique and ever changing inventory that we had.
The management program I created in Excel continues to be utilized presently (as of April 2019).
May 2016 - Aug. 2016
My primary role was to create and implement the social media strategies that we had come up with to organically market the business to our clients and to extend the reach of our business. I utilized Hootsuite to schedule content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and also utilized Pinterest. We used MailChimp as our e-mail campaign suite. During my time as the Marketing Inter, we more than quadrupled our impressions on content posted and doubled our followers on Instagram.
The e-commerce software rails that I implemented are still being used and have been since re-designed by the current business manager.
Jan. 2016 - May 2016
My primary roles were to integrate in new technology that had been purchased at the time and ensure that it all worked together and was connected. During this period, I also rebuilt the studio's website using Squarespace. I utilized Squarespace's e-commerce platform as well as Google Analytics and Google, Bing, and Yahoo! Webmaster tools for SEO purposes.
Nov. 2015 - Jan. 2016
I started off in the studio as part-time staff. My primary job roles were assisting the owner in general upkeep and cleanliness of the studio and shop as well as learning how the business operates and the basics of jewelry sales. I began my training under a master jeweler on how to clean and polish jewelry.
